Adam Lambert Returns With The Release of New Single ‘Two Fux’

two-fux-extralarge_1498836306898

US singer and former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert returns to the music scene two years following his previous album ‘The Original High’ with the release of his brand new single ‘Two Fux’ and it’s totally fab!

The brand new song features legendary members of British rock band Queen whom Adam Lambert has been touring extensively with over the past number of years. With that in mind the song has evidently taken influence from the iconic band and could easily have fitted amongst the band’s classic releases. There is definite aspects reminiscent of Queen classics such as ‘Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy’ and ‘Killer Queen’ both of which bear a similar classic rock meets jazz sound. In fact I’d even go as far to describe it as a modern day Queen song!

At the same time it has that unique and vibrant flare that shines through Adam Lambert’s previous solo releases but with a theatrical twist. Considering Adam’s background in musical theatre which saw him perform in a number of popular productions prior to American Idol such as ‘Wicked’, ‘Brigadoon’ and ‘Hair’ to name a few; he has an extremely strong and powerful voice which paticularly shines in such genres. Adam is by far one of my very favourite vocalists due to the spectacular tone, crisp perfection and diverse vocal range which he displays in each performance. Simply stunning to say the least!

The actual content and lyrics within the song are extremely personal to Adam as he shares his feelings and story within the LGBT community. It’s honest and poignant but at the same time oozes that quirk, sass and attitude that I admire him for. The song’s message is clear and something we all should take on board ‘Be ourselves and don’t give Two Fuxs (as Adam would say) about what anyone thinks of us!’

A fabulous new release from Adam Lambert and Queen who debuted the brand new song during an exciting performance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show ahead on their upcoming US tour. An exciting glimpse into upcoming music from Adam, I for one cannot wait to see what he has in store for us!!!

Buckingham McVie Release 1st Single ‘In my World’ Ahead Of Their Upcoming Album

Just weeks ago legendary Fleetwood Mac members Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham announced the anticipated release of a brand new album which they’ve been working on as a duo for the past couple of years. Set for release on the 9th June 2017 Buckingham McVie gave fans a first glance into the upcoming album with the release of its first single; a song named ‘In My World’.

Despite the new single solely featuring Lindsey Buckingham with the absence of the incredible Christine McVie’s vocals it most certainly doesn’t disappoint! At the same times creates an element of mystery and anticipation for fans as we await the album to hear new material from Christine. Being an avid Fleetwood Mac fan myself, I keep up with many of the dedicated fan-sites and related publications and have heard mixed reviews and decided opinions from fans. Some love it; some aren’t as keen but personally speaking it’s certainly got a thumbs up from me!

The track has that distinct Lindsey Buckingham sound that often arises amongst his recordings as both a member of Fleetwood Mac as well as in his solo material. It oozes that comforting acoustic folk rock sound; something that as a band Fleetwood Mac were renowned for in songs such as ‘Big Love’, ‘The Chain’, ‘Bleed To Love Her’ and ‘Second Hand News’ to name just a few-the list could easily go on forever!

For all the fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming Buckingham McvVie album, ‘In My World’ has served as an exciting insight into what to expect from the new music. If it’s anything to go by, I am sure it’s going to be good!

Introducing Spencer Ludwig’s ‘Diggy’

Forever on the look out for new music, I absolutely love coming across an exciting new artist! One of my recent discoveries is Spencer Ludwig, an up and coming artist based in Los Angeles, California who’s bound to go far in the music industry! In a couple of years time I’m pretty sure his music will be everywhere with those catchy grooves.

Today I want to share with you a track titled ‘Diggy’ released by Spencer last year and was featured in a Fall Fashion campaign for popular US supermarket chain Target. It’s both fresh and unique and already going down a treat judging by music lover’s reactions on YouTube.

Infectiously funky with a seriously good groove, Spencer channels that funk disco sound made famous by a number of iconic artists back in the 70s and 80s. Vocally, I was instantly struck by Spencer’s reminiscent tones of the late great Prince-have a listen and you’ll see what I mean! Instrumentally the track also reminds me a little of Prince’s extensive performances/recordings with The New Power Generation who were known for their musicianship; in comparison ‘Diggy’ features strong brass backing throughout the track taking on a similar sound. Yet it has that same charm and charisma as the likes of current artists such as Pharrel Williams as well as tracks produced by the incredible Mark Ronson. It’s got that perfect sound for the radio; all it takes is one listen and you’re bound to fall in love!

GOT7 Return With The Release Of ‘Never Ever’

K-pop group Got7 return to the music scene with their latest comeback; ‘Flightlog: Arrival’, a brand new mini album in the much-anticipated Flightlog series. Alongside Monday’s album release, came the group’s latest music video which accompanies a track titled ‘Never Ever’.

If you’ve been following the ‘Flightlog’ series since the release of the first mini album early last year, you’ll be aware of the series’ unique and developing storyline. The accompanying music videos serves as a visual insight into the story and has evidently caught fans of the groups’ attention as they attempt to piece the story together and search for conclusion. As a UK listener the concept of the trilogy is extremely diverse in comparison to anything I’ve seen over here; the storyline is gripping and leaves you searching for clues amongst the tiniest of details. It’s like combining a good book with music and in my opinion; you can’t get any better than that!

Without giving away too much about the trilogy’s concept as I urge you to go back in time and watch the videos; ‘Never Ever’ has a slightly different outlook to the previous videos. ‘Departure’ was notably lighter in both sound and image whereas ‘Turbulence’ much like its title was remarkably darker and more dramatic. From first glance ‘Arrival’ has seemingly familiar elements to its predecessor ‘Turbulence’ yet perhaps not quite as heavy?

The video is an exciting visual illustration of the albums opening track ‘Never Ever’ written by JYP Entertainment’s and Got7’s founder Park Jin-young. Looking at the song itself, it’s a catchy number with a unique sound that perfectly fits Got7’s image and style.

Serving as the final chapter, the video provides closure as it resolves unanswered questions from the previous instalments. Although not overpowering, the video’s setting  is effective and undeniably striking featuring a number of scenes situated in museum, underwater, hospital and industrial like locations.

As dancers ‘Never Ever’ allows each members Got7 to really shine. Despite having no professional knowledge on the subject, I have however been immersed into the world of dance as an onlooker at various events throughout my life and can certainly spot a good dancer when I see one. In my opinion one of Got7’s strongest points is without a doubt their dancing abilities which is apparent throughout the MV. The perfection in each move is impeccable as is the synchronisation of the group as they effortlessly bring the routine to life.

Never Ever proves to be a popular comeback with fans and feedback is positive across social media as listeners enjoy Got7’s latest release. Here in the UK the album is ranking in the iTunes charts and meanwhile Got7 were seen to be trending on the site. As a radio presenter I plan on airing the new track on my show later this week and look forward to hearing listeners feedback on the song!

What’s your thoughts on Got7s latest comeback and the brand new music video? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to show you support by checking out the new video and purchasing the new album!

BTS Breaks Personal Record With ‘Not Today’

Just over a week ago Kpop band BTS made their big return to the music scene with Spring Day the first music video release from their new album ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. A success within hours of release Spring Day proved to be popular with fans of the group. I for one love the track and have played it on my radio show in hope of introducing it to a few new listeners. Days later, Big Hit have released yet another music video by the group to accompany a brand new track titled Not Today.

Not Today is remarkably different in style to Spring Day, something that others have noted across social media. It’s notably upbeat and heavier in comparison to Spring Day which much like its name is more gentle and serene. If you’re a fan of BTS tracks such as Dope, War of Hormones and Fire to name just a few; then I can guarantee you’ll love Not Today!

Focusing on the accompanying music video for Not Today which I believe has already broken Spring Days’ record by becoming the fastest rising K-Pop video in history. Within just 12 hours the video had been viewed an incredible 6 million times and by the 24 hour mark had gained over 10 million views on YouTube! What an achievement for the group! It proves that there’s growing interest in the K-Pop genre and the fact that it’s beginning to gain widespread success.

Completely different from last weeks music video release; Not Today has a much edgier and modern vibe. It’s features an impressive dance sequence showcasing the Bangtan Boys impeccable talents. Pay close attention to the dance routines as you watch; everything from the timings, the way the group moves in unison to the standard and creative flare within each move is worthy of praise.

Not Todays’ video has that unique and striking flare that one has come to expect from each of BTS’ videos. Their videos never fail to capture the audience’s attention through their intriguing and dramatic concepts illustrating each tracks story. The colour scheme in Not Today is equally as interesting as Spring Day; this time round the tones are both darker and warmer which again adds to the overall result of the video and depicts the songs emotion.

Overall, BTS have outdone themselves yet again! The records they’ve broken during the past week or so is enough to justify this. I sincerely hope that they continue to receive such success towards their music. It is truly fantastic to discover something that little bit different, unfortunately the industry lacks unique artists at present so when a group like BTS makes a breakthrough we should hold onto them and support their music.

If you haven’t already checked out Not Today make sure to click on the video above and let me know your thoughts on the new song/MV! Get your copy of Not Today and the new album You’ll Never Walk Alone via one of the links below.

Take That Returns With New Single Giants!

After much anticipation the return of one of the UK’s favourites bands Take That is finally upon us as they celebrate the release of their brand new single Giants! Giants is the first release from the bands latest album ‘Wonderland’ which is set to be released next month ahead of the band’s UK tour in May and June which I’ve managed to get tickets for and will be writing about following the show here on Jukebox Rhapsody!

Having preordered the single from the bands official website I received my signed copy in the mail this morning which included some added bonuses including live recordings from Take That’s gig at Hyde Park in London last year as well as another new song titled ‘Loving or Leaving’. So does the new release live up to Take That’s usual standards? Will it be another hit for the band? There really isn’t a doubt about it; of course it’s a hit song! Would you really expect anything less?

It’s got that classic and distinctive sound that when you hear it for the first time, you’ll just know it’s Take That. It’s upbeat and extremely catchy coming with the guarantee that the lyrics will be stuck in your head after just a few listens. What I absolutely love about Take That is that although they started out in the 90s they’re still producing music that’s relevant and appeals to all ages.

If you loved ‘Let In The Sun’ from the bands previous album released back in 2015, then you’re bound to love Giants! Both tracks have a similar sound which I’m sure you’ll recognise after listening. Giants is without a doubt made to be performed live, you just know it’ll like up the arena and get everyone up on their feet and singing along – isn’t that what all good music’s about after all?

Yet again Take That continue to reign the world of pop with their latest release and it won’t be long until it’s blasting out on car radios and in homes up and down the country-I for one will be playing on my radio this Thursday evening! It’s a great introduction to everything that’s yet to come in the band’s new album; if Giants is anything to go by it’s gonna be great!

BTS Make Kpop History With Latest Release ‘Spring Day’

Upon celebrating the release of Korean pop sensations BTS’ latest album titled ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’; the follow-up to last years ‘Wings’ album which made history as the ever first Kpop album to enter the UK charts, comes the new hit song Spring Day. Released just a few days ago, I’ve already listened to the new track on a number of occasions to give me a feel of the music and an insight into the group’s latest release before sharing my thoughts with you guys out there.

Spring Day has a much lighter, gentler and ultimately a more colourful tone summing up the new album’s concept in comparison to its predeceasing album ‘Wings’ which notably was more serious, darker and dramatic. The concept of Wings was undeniably unique and extremely clever; the accompanying videos pieced together to illustrate a haunting story. Yet on first glance of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ I somehow get the impression that latest release from BTS is about to take a new turn. After all, everything from the album artwork to the song title of the MV/single seems much more serene.

Spring Day’s accompanying music video follows suit and captures the essence of You’ll Never Walk Alone’s concept submerging the viewer into what I’d describe as a pastel throwback. The video’s notable colour scheme is aesthetically pleasing on the eye and features a number of  spectacular scenic based shots. The video on a whole has a sentimental vintage feel to it, something that instantly caught my attention on first viewing. It creates a sense of comfort and I feel helps depict the songs emotion. The video is extremely different in comparison to the Blood, Sweat and Tears video yet is equally as artistic, striking and thought-provoking.

Spring Day is an uplifting and heartwarming number showcasing BTS’ stunning vocal abilities. There’s familiar elements particularly in the background of music towards the end of the track that remind me of UK/American bands such as Coldplay. At the same time there’s also hints of pervious releases from BTS empathizing the bands signature sound. Having only been released just a short while ago, the song is already a massive success for the group becoming the fastest video by a Kpop group to reach 10 million views! From what I can see, it’s already soaring up the UK iTunes charts and fans are now waiting in sheer anticipation to see the songs fate in this week’s official charts-best of luck boys!

BTS’ new album ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is now available for purchase or to listen to via streaming services linked below. Be sure to check out Spring Day and let me know your thoughts on the track!
